Terms and Conditions

By making a purchase at Wool Mountain you agree and accept these Terms and Conditions

VAT Charges

Prices for all products include 20% Value Added Tax (VAT) with the exception of books whic are zero rated (0%).

VAT charges do not apply to orders shipped outside of the UK and the European Union, and this will be reflected in the shopping cart. Please note that this means if you have a billing address outside of the European Union and you have your order shipped to an address within the European Union, then your order will incur the VAT charge.

Shipping

All items displayed are available for immediate dispatch, unless stated.

You must select a shipping destination during checkout to complete your purchase. Please ensure the correct destination is selected otherwise your order may be delayed while the correct postage is applied.

We use the Royal Mail as our primary mail carrier. All items are despatched as First Class Post.

We only use Airmail for international shipping.

We use the Royal Mail's definition of European Countries.

Credit & Debit Card Payments

We allow you to purchase services from us by credit card. To ensure absolute security and privacy, we entrust credit card transactions to WorldPay, one of the worlds leading credit card payment solutions providers. Customers may supply credit card numbers by other means. Your credit card details will not be retained by us following the transaction. Payments can be made in UK Pounds Sterling.

Payment by Cheque

If you wish to make a telephone order and wish to pay by cheque, we charge a £1 cheque handling fee. We can take credit/debit card payments over the phone.

Legal Compliance

This returns and refunds policy is in accordance with the EU Distance Selling Directive which came into force in October 2000 and is part of UK law under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. This law applies to all transactions within the UK where a consumer does not meet the vendor. Contracts between businesses are not governed by these regulations.

Refunds & Exchanges Policy

You have the right to cancel an order within seven days of purchase or within seven days of receipt of the goods.  Should you wish to cancel your purchase within seven days, you must contact us at returns@woolmountain.co.uk, otherwise, your refund may be delayed. Goods returned to us without prior notice will not be refunded.  Providing that unwanted goods are received back to us in unused, unopened and resaleable condition within seven days of delivery, we will refund payment for the goods less a minimum handlng charge of £2. We regret we cannot refund postage.

Resaleable means that yarn must not be unwound, in it's original ball band, for instance, be free from any odours or pet hairs. If you return yarn that is not resaleable, you forfeit your right to a refund and the item will be returned to you, at your cost.

However, if your return brings the value of your original order to below any free posting threshold, we will retain £2 for postage. This applies if all or part of the purchase is returned.

Also, products on special offers and promotions and books and patterns cannot be exchanged or returned unless they are faulty.

Orders placed by credit or debit card from this web site will be refunded directly to your credit or debit card. Orders placed by other means will be refunded by cheque. These refunds will be made within 30 days of return of goods.

We cannot accept liability for returned goods lost or damaged during transit. You are advised to wrap the product carefully to avoid damage. You are also advised to return goods by recorded delivery, registered post, or by courier. Proof of postage will not be accepted as proof of delivery. Please remember to give us your name and address, and a copy of your purchase receipt. The cost of returning items will be borne by you.

Exchange Policy

If you receive a shade of yarn that does not meet your expectation, we are able to offer a full or partial exchange for an alternative shade or yarn of similar cost, provided you contact us within seven days of receiving your order. Requests for exchanges outside of this time are at our discretion.

Please note that you must bear the cost of returning the yarn and for the cost of resending the exchange out. This return cost will be dependent upon the amount of your order to be exchanged. The cost of resending the item will be given to you before the order is resent and must be paid before resending. Exchanges cannot be combined into new orders. Please see our refunds policy for details of returning items.

We are sorry but we can not take back odd balls left over once you have knitted your garment. If you are unsure how many balls you require we are happy to lay aside one or two extra balls in the same dye lot for up to 4 weeks. (Use the "Comments" box when you check out to request this service.)

Due to copyright, we do not exchange or refund patterns or books. Please note that unsolicited returns of books and patterns will be returned to the customer at their cost.

Risk of Loss

All items purchased from Wool Mountain Ltd are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title of such items pass to the customer upon delivery to the carrier.

Product Descriptions

Wool Mountain attempts to be as accurate as possible. Images and pictures are provided by yarns suppliers and colours may be appear different.  However Wool Mountain does not warrant that product descriptions or other content of this site is accurate, complete, reliable, current or error-free. If a product offered by Wool Mountain itself is not as described your sole remedy is to return it in an unused condition.

Privacy

We will not share or sell your details to any third party.

Health and Safety

In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974 and the Consumer Protection Act 1987. Wool Mountain confirms that the goods it supplies as a distributor do not present a hazard to Health and Safety, (a) when properly used for the purpose for which they are designed and (b) if the customer takes reasonable and normal precautions in their use.

Trademarks

Trade names and marks (other than Wool Mountain) are not always indicative of the actual manufacturer of a particular product and may rather be indicative of general use items associated with such products.
